Its no secret what and where the economic status of the Philippines is today. In 2007, 65 million Filipinos or 80% of the population are struggling to survive on the equivalent of US$ 2/ day. Majority of children in the Philippines are raised without essential needs for survival; such as food, clothes, and a future outside of economic deficiency. The Philippine is in need. How can PNOY Apparel help?

PNOY Apparel's Shirt The Kids 2008 Charity Campaign will be releasing and selling a new design for $5. Consumers of the Shirt The Kids 2008 Charity Campaign buy the shirt, but not for them. All shirts purchased via www.pnoyapparel.com, www.pinoykids.org, festivals, online affiliates, etc. will be donated to a child in the Philippines via the Philippine Children's Fund (PCF) (TIN 94-3162880). At the end of every month, PNOY Apparel will tally, pack, and ship to the PCF's Philippine offices in Pampanga, where the shirts will be distributed among the children. As an added benefit, fifty cents of the Shirt The Kids $5 tee will also go the PCF to help with any financial need such as school supplies, food, and/or extra clothes for the children. PNOY Apparel also acknowledges that our current home away from home is the United States and CAN NOT over look the millions of under privileged children within the country. PNOY Apparel will also donate another fifty cents of the Shirt The Kids $5 tee to American Kids Cancer Fund here in the United States.

PNOY Apparel's mission: to sell and donate a minimum of 10,000 shirts by December 31, 2008. That will be10,000 shirts for 10,000 kids! For the price of a cup of coffee, a bag of chips and/or a gallon of gas, people can put more than a priceless smile on a child in the Philippines and benefit children fighting cancer. As a FREE GIFT, for each tee purchased, PNOY Apparel will include a PNOY Apparel Shirt The Kids wristband, as a reminder of your selfless donation.

SHIRT THE KIDS COMES TO LIFE!!!
NOV 5, 2008

I woke up this morning 30 minutes past my alarm! Jet lagged...I took a quick BRISK shower! If any of you have stayed in the Philippines, you know what I'm talking about! The first bucket is always the coldest!! BRRRRRRR!!!!

The team assembled, shirted, and ready for the road.

Alan, our guide, and Joven our navigator...heard you snore Mr. Navigator!
Kat Dy, Fashion Editor for Summit Magazine, came along to Shirt The Kids.

Uncle Clem also coming along. And of course he was the first to crack a smile!
Jerry, my twin for the day was not pictured. At least not yet..ha.

By 0400 we were on the dark road heading to the Paradise Valley Ranch, the home of the
Philippine Children's Fund in Pampanga and the site of the first Shirt The Kids drop off.

Paradise Valley Ranch not only serves as the home office of the Philippines Children's Fund, but is also a conservation and environmental friendly park that serves multiple roles.

Executive Directors Eric Gomez and Romy Goce, with the help of their wonderful staff and many supporters, put together a nature park and wildlife sanctuary for all to visit and enjoy. Their focus is to preserve nature, provide charity support for the children across the Philippines, and provide employement. 60% of the staff are Aytas, indengenous pilipinos known for their nomadic culture.

Neil giving us a quick tour of the ranch and all of its 53 hectors of beauty.
35' man made lake with actual fish. No fishing allowed...just feeding.

As kids tour the park, they are given the opportunity to give back to the environment by planting their own plant provided by Paradise Valley Ranch.

I've been told I monkey around way too much. Alpha male separated for the day.
Sometimes I feel like I have to be caged...ha.

Eric's lemon grass tea. I have to say...this is probably one of the best drinks ever made.
Fresh from the ranch! Eric, this stuff needs to be bottled and distributed!

The beauty of Paradise Valley Ranch is only surpassed by the kindness of the staff. Eric, Romy, Aim, Neil, etc are all beyond great people...thank you again for the hospitality. Now let the Shirt The Kids show begin...

SHIRT THE KIDS 2008 CHARITY CAMPAIGN

The Philippine Children's Fund contacted the help of the Philippine Air Force to help transport the local kids. I can't describe the feeling of actually seeing the Shirt The Kids Charity Campaign come to life and bringing Sammy The Sunshine into their lives! A few times I literally had to step back as the full magnitude of Shirt The Kids finally sank in. All the hard work, YOUR SELFLESS donations, and support has brought this simple idea to fruition. I know the following pictures can not re-enact the same senstion, but I hope they do justice. If I had the ability to bottle the feeling, it would be yours! Please enjoy the pictures...you deserve it!

The guest of honor...

Say hello...

Our country's future...our hope. Teachers of hope.

More on the way...

Thank you for the sign. Neil opening up the event.

They even had a performance for us.

The distribution begins...

The kids saying "thank you!!!" I say, "No Thank YOU!!!"

S H I R T... T H E... K I D S!!!!

Jerry the twin brother taking pictures. Thought you were going to escape huh...ha

After distributing the Sammy The Sunshine t-shirts, the kids surprised us with another performance. Simply amazing.

In behalf of PNOY Apparel, Philippine Children's Fund, Paradise Valley Ranch, and the kids of the Philippines, THANK YOU!! Without YOU, I would not be here today. Its beyond description and emotions. The lack of sleep the past few days, traveling, and hustling for Shirt The Kids has all been worth it. Our job is not yet done...we still have a lofty goal, but with your help, we can provide very Merry Holidays for the kids! And if you have not donated, please do so at Shirt The Kids Charity Campaign. Let's Help Put A Shirt On Poverty...remember its all for the kids...OUR KIDS!!!
